MSA's 7th Grade Students
This project incorporates every teen's favorite snap shot: the Selfie! Using a digital camera or a cell phone and photoshop, students created an artistic portrait. Their portrait overlays a favorite piece of writing from the year or a short piece about who they are. The students created two separate Selfie Writing projects: one with their school picture and one with a seflie taken at home.
Our 7th grade students are participating in the Adobe Youth Voices program for their third year. As you can see they are learning to use various tools in the program to make beautiful pieces of art. Below you will see the shape of an object that each student picked. The object represents something about them: a sport they like to play, something they like doing or eating, etc. The students inserted adjectives into the shape of the object that tell us all about them. They finalized the piece by adding color using the Adobe Color Wheel. They were asked to choose a color family for their piece. You will see some exceptions where students felt certain colors were necessary in order for the audience to understand their shape.
